The Peace Arch Maternity Clinic has been serving families in the communities of White Rock and Surrey for 10 years. It is staffed with experienced maternity doctors who deliver at Peace Arch Hospital. The Clinic provide full community maternity services including prenatal, labour-and-delivery and follow-up care, as well as 24-hour pediatric on-call coverage, OBGYN back up and comprehensive pain relief options including epidural services as needed. The services of doulas and midwives are welcome on the ward.
Over the past number of years the area has benefited from an influx of young families, breathing new life into the community. Each year the maternity doctors at Peace Arch Hospital deliver approximately 800 babies, a number capped by the current maternity ward’s limited birthing capacity. The new maternity ward, phase I of which will open this summer (2010), will be 50 per cent larger than the current facility and will close to triple our birthing capacity.
